History

  1. 1962

    Karl M. Karlsson & Co. is founded, first printing adhesive tape, foil and other products never before printed in Iceland.

  2. 1972

    The company takes the name Vörumerking, and labels gradually become its core business.

  3. 2012

    Samhentir acquires Vörumerking.

  4. 2013

    New presses and a move to purpose-built premises at Suðurhraun 6. Part of the hall is sealed for food and pharma packaging, with more frequent air exchange.

  5. 2022

    Sixtieth anniversary and a new logo, designed with the studio Jökulá. The blue and the V remain.

  6. 2026

    Vörumerking takes over Sigurplast, maker of blow-moulded PET and HDPE bottles.

Less waste

The digital press makes short runs viable, offcuts are kept to a minimum and all waste is recycled.

Vörumerking is part of Samhentir, which offers complete solutions in packaging, packing machinery and automation.
